Gershwin Francis Emmanuel Grant, known to his friends as “Rev”, was born of Jamaican parents in London, England, in 1965. In 1978 his family moved to New York City. Rev. Grant attended the New York Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in architecture. While in college he became a Christian. In 1991, after working as an architect for five years, he listened to God’s call and began to equip himself for Christian ministry. Rev. Grant studied during evenings and weekends at the New York School of the Bible, Seminary of the East, and Alliance Theological Seminary, while continuing to work for WYS Design Architects.
During his years in seminary he also served as the Assistant Director of New York Gospel Outreach, and as the Associate Director of the New York Christian Higher Education Consortium. He graduated in 1999, and was ordained as a minister of the Gospel.
In early 1996, Rev. Grant planted a new cell church, the His Glory Bible Fellowship, in the Bronx with Missions to the Americas. He is Biblically knowledgeable and teaches in a relevant, powerful, and dynamic manner that addresses today’s issues.
Also, he has served on the board of WorldVenture, a world missions organization associated with Conservative Baptist of America. He also served on the Executive Board and the Church Planting committee for the Conservative Baptist MissionNortheast for several years.
